Description
Yagnopavit Sanskar is a very important ceremony among Brahmins. The sacred thread is also worn by several Vaishya and Kshatriya communities. A Brahmin is also known as a Dwija, which means “the one who is born twice.” It is said that Janeu Sanskar may resurrect a guy. A sacred thread called Janeu, also called Yajnopaveetam, is draped over the boy’s left shoulder.
